Kate Middleton can actually make a splash at her new home, Forest Lodge.
Princess Kate, Prince William, and their three children moved into the new house in October 2025, and the secluded property in Windsor Great Park reportedly offers a convenient feature that caters to one of her hobbies.
According to Hello! magazine, Forest Lodge has access to a private lake â perfect for the Princess of Wales to go swimming.
Kate, 43, is famously sporty and spoke about her love for âcold swimmingâ while appearing on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast with Prince William and Princess Anne in 2023.
âI love all sports. I really, generally love all sports. I love swimming. Cold swimming,â the Princess of Wales said on the podcast co-hosted by Princess Anneâs son-in-law, Mike Tindall.
âThe colder, the better,â Prince William added.
âThe colder, the better. I absolutely love it,â she agreed. âSlightly to the point where Williamâs like, âCatherine, youâre crazy,â â she said, laughing. âAnd itâs dark, and itâs raining, and Iâll go and seek out cold water.â
Princess Kate may have gotten her husband in on the fun, as Prince William revealed in November that he took the plunge with some cold water dips in Scotland.
âYou feel great afterwards,â the Prince of Wales, 43, told members of the Colwyn Bay Blue Tits cold water swimming group while visiting North Wales, the Daily Mail reported.
âI love it. I do a lot of yelling and screaming when I get in,â he added.
The autumn move to Forest Lodge marked a fresh start for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, following a difficult few years for their family.

Their previous home, Adelaide Cottage, also in Windsor, quickly became tied to some of the hardest chapters of their lives following their move there in 2022. Adelaide Cottage was the backdrop to Queen Elizabethâs death that September, the turbulence that followed Prince Harry and Meghan Markleâs bombshell docuseries and Harryâs memoir, Spare, published in 2023.
In early 2024, King Charles and Princess Kate both announced that they were diagnosed with cancer. The Princess of Wales announced in January 2025 that she is in remission and in December, the King, 77, shared the âgood newsâ that his treatment can be reduced this year.
âAdelaide Cottage was a place of pain, suffering and sadness. After such rough times, itâs perfectly understandable they would want a new place,â Sally Bedell Smith, royal biographer behind the Royals Extra Substack, recently told PEOPLE in an exclusive cover story.
PEOPLE understands that Forest Lodge is the Wales familyâs forever home and where they intend to remain, even after William becomes king one day.
